Tooth Brushing Tips

Some Tooth Brushing Mistakes Which We Ever Done

We’ve been brushing our teeth our whole lives so naturally, we figure that we’re pros at it, right? Wrong! It’s normal to become sloppy and careless when it comes to dental care without giving it a second thought.
We tell you some tooth brushing mistakes you could be making that are doing damage to your gums and causing cavities easier than you thought. Brush up on these mistakes for a healthy set of pearly whites and flash that gorgeous smile always.

Not Brushing As Often  As You Should For As Long As You Should
Admit it, there have been plenty of occasions when you have fallen asleep at night before brushing and we all know that’s a big mistake. It’s essential to brush twice a day, everyday for as long as 2 minutes every time to effectively get rid of plaque and bacteria.

You’re Not Using The Right Toothbrush
Make sure your brush isn’t too big, it should be small to medium sized so it fits comfortably in your mouth. The bristles shouldn’t be too hard or they could cause tooth damage. You need to look for a brush with soft bristles that are slightly angled so that they read each tooth effectively.

Not Rinsing Your Toothbrush Properly
Dipping your brush under the tap for two seconds after you’re done is not sufficient. You need to thoroughly rinse it out to wash away any bacteria on the bristles, or else you can reintroduce them back into your mouth the next time your brush.

Not Using The Right Brushing Technique
The next time you brush, make sure you use circular movements across all surfaces from the top to bottom of every tooth. Don’t forget to clean the inside surfaces of your upper and lower teeth as well.

Starting From The Same Place Every Time
Thanks to habit, you probably start brushing from the same spot every single time, which means that by the end of the process, you’re likely to slack off and not give as much attention to the last tooth or area before you finish. It’s a good idea to change it up every time and begin brushing from a different spot so that each tooth gets as much attention and care.

Overzealous Brushing
There are people who don’t brush enough and then there are those who brush their teeth too often out of compulsion. It’s healthy to brush up to 3 times a day, any more than that and you could be damaging the root and enamel of your teeth as well as your gums. The same goes for brushing too hard, make sure you’re gentle about it.

Using A Worn-Out Toothbrush For Long
It’s necessary to replace your brush for a new one every 3 months or as soon as the bristles start fraying. Using a worn out brush for longer won’t be effective in cleaning your teeth.
